Most renovators go for paint and new floors, but those who really want to transform a space know to look into easy RV interior lighting updates. Maybe you want to add a chandelier over your dining table or replace the bedside lights. These easy upgrades can take an RV from looking factory-built to custom-made.
RV Interior Lighting: Before
Many newer RVs have recessed LED lights that look like this:
They leave a small footprint, but they aren’t particularly beautiful.

Skip the Wiring
Wiring lights doesn’t necessarily require an electrician, but these easy RV interior lighting updates can help you skip the wiring headache altogether!
1. Hanging Black Cage
This black cage light has a 14-foot cord that allows it to be hung from the ceiling of your RV.
In the above photo, you can see it’s plugged into the ceiling, but you could easily plug this into any wall. Recreate the look with this fixture:

3. Antique DIY Lamps
RVer Terri wanted a vintage and antique RV interior. She found hurricane lamp stands and built these lampshades with fabric and beading.
If you want to add lamps to your RV, you can permanently or semi-permanently adhere them to your side tables. For a semi-permanent fix, we recommend double-sided acrylic tape. Your lamps won’t move while driving and the tape can be removed later with a little heat from your hair dryer.
- Strong viscosity, Environmental protection, one roll 3/4" 10' acrylic clear heavy duty double sided tape, long lasting coated with permanent adhesive, according to experience, please weigh 0.5 pounds per 1 square inch double sided tape. Why wait for the holidays? You can find Christmas lights or hanging globe lights to decorate your space no matter the time of year!
