9 Clever, Space-Saving Furniture Ideas for RVs

When your camper is less than 200 square feet, one of the best things you can do is use space-saving furniture.
Many RVers think they must buy expensive RV-specific furniture to replace old, worn out, or outdated couches, recliners, and other furniture in their camper or motorhome. But countless RV owners (myself included) have replaced the factory-installed furniture with “regular” furniture. All you need to do is ensure the furniture meets weight requirements and is secured somehow during travel.
Take a look at some of these space-saving furniture ideas for updating your RV’s interior.
1. Storage Ottoman
- COMFORT FOAM PADDING: Comfort foam padded top for added seating comfort while sturdy setup structure gives stability to the base.
A storage ottoman bench is what we use for a coffee table in our RV. We store shoes in it, and it’s an extra place to sit.
We keep a wood serving tray sitting on top as a hard surface on which to set drinks. What stood out to me about this one was the way the lid lifts from each side, meaning you wouldn’t have to remove a tray sitting on top to access the contents. You could just slide it to one end.
This ottoman comes in three solid colors and five fun prints.
2. Adaptable Coffee Table
- Lift-top Ergonomic Design - Is the height of other coffee table enough for you when sitting on sofa? The Rolanstar versatile wood flip top table provide you a floating raised work surface so you can comfortably sit and no longer need to lean forward. Retro industrial style coffee table fit for any room decor. Ideal for working, dining in living room
Coffee tables like this one are great for serving multiple purposes. The pull-up top can hide remotes, books, and other items and also serve as a tabletop. This can be a good option for campers who ditch the dinette and need a spot to eat.

3. Wall Mount Desk
- Wall mounted desk features four compartments, one angled paper organizer, one corkboard, one drawer, and a fold-down desktop
If you’re working remotely from your RV, but don’t have room for a desk, this is a great space saver! The wall-mounted fold-out desk offers storage and juts only 6″ out from the wall. Add a (folding) stool, and you’ve got a nice corner office!
4. Butterfly Chairs
- Unparalleled Comfort: MISSING on Indulging in the luxury of a gently curving backrest and seat that promise a level of support and comfort that elevates your relaxation experience.
The leather style is perfect for trendy boho or rustic designs, but it would also look great in a camper with a cowboy or cabin-inspired decor theme. Since it folds out of the way, it could be pulled out as extra seating for guests. It could also be used outside as a lawn chair that looks pretty inside as well.
