11 Wow-Worthy Airstream Remodels

Long before renovating your RV was cool, Airstream remodels were already popular. Steel and aluminum framing enable them to last upwards of 40 years. With their timeless silhouette, you won’t be able to tell the difference between the Airstreams on this list built in the 1960s and the ones from the 2000s.
These are some of the most wow-worthy Airstream remodels we’ve seen. Scroll for photos and video tours.
1. Fit for a Bride
This gorgeously renovated RV serves as a bridal suite for events and weddings. Because of its multiple uses, the interior is simple and open. The floor plan is designed more as a lounge and doesn’t include a full kitchen or a bedroom. Instead, there is a small fridge, and if you’re lucky, room for wedding cake.
There’s plenty of room for brides and family to get ready for the big day or just to hang out and take photos. I mean, how gorgeous is this?!
Of all the Airstreams on the list, this 1973 Land Yacht is definitely the most unique! (Also, check out that ceiling!)
This RV is currently for sale on our Renovated RVs for Sale Marketplace.
2. High-End Bathroom
This coastal paradise was built in 1965! After eight long months of renovations, it was lovingly brought back to life and is now on the open road.
Surprisingly, the standout feature of this renovation is the toilet. The owners found this smart toilet from Homery on Amazon. It includes a bidet, lights up, has flushing sensors, and can be remote-controlled. Pretty fancy for a 60-year-old camper!

3. Modern Luxury
This 1964 Airstream Overlander is just barely the oldest RV on this list, but it has perhaps the most modern interiors.
In order to remodel this Airstream, the interior was completely gutted down to the frame before being rebuilt with new insulation, new aluminum, new everything—even the tanks were replaced!
The minimalistic design of this Airstream remodel keeps the design flexible so that anyone who moves in can add their own decor to make it their own.

4. Retro Flair
While the older Airstreams on this list took the modern approach, this 2004 model became a retro escape. From the vintage-style fridge to the mid-century modern cabinet doors, this fun remodel feels like a recreation of the 1950s.
Primarily black and white, this renovation features pops of pink that feed into the old Hollywood design.
Tana Radosevic of Rad Studio immaculately restored this Airstream. You can get a complete video tour of this rig by Tana below:
5. Pineapple Express
Wallpaper is awesome.
6. The Bar ?
There’s something about the design of this Airstream that makes me want to order an old fashioned. Is it the trendy bar set up? Is it the dark stained slat wall that gives the place a prohibition speak easy feel?
This 1969 vintage 27’ Airstream Overlander is the first remodel I’ve seen with a bar replacing the large dining booth, and I’m loving it.
The unique features don’t end there. This Airstream also includes a custom built-in couch, two twin beds, and a bath tub.
7. Bright and Modern
Renovated by the same couple as the above rig, this 1987 Airstream renovation is their latest completion. A blend of modern design with rustic accents, this Airstream definitely looks like the most spacious of any trailer on this list.
Airstream trailers never have slide outs, so creating open floor space is more difficult than in other brands of trailers. By Adding an open area with a bench, the room feels more open while still including all of the amenities you need in a home on wheels.
8. California Chic ?
This may be my favorite renovation on this list. Design in a “California chic” style, the renovators wanted this Airstream remodel to feel like walking into a resort in Joshua Tree National Park. A little hint of desert, a lot of hints of luxury.
I have to share more photos of the details on this gorgeous renovation.

9. A Taste of Fall ?
This Airstream has me ready to start driving north to Vermont to watch the leaves change. (Add it to the bucket list if you’ve never watched the leaves change across New England!)
Avie the Airstream was purchased already renovated by newlyweds to be their full-time home. Living tiny is a challenge, but with a space so cozy, who wouldn’t want to move in?
10. From Airstream Renos to an Airstream C0mpetitor
Architect Matt Hofmann renovated his Airstream, above, for personal use before seeing an opportunity. He turned his architecture firm into the place to go for Airstream renovations and design.
Today, Matt now owns Living Vehicle. Pictured below, Living Vehicle is the closest competition to Airstream in terms of design, quality, and build. They look similar with their shiny silver frames, but Living Vehicles are much more high-end. Their tagline is “Luxury Unplugged,” and they certainly look luxurious!
11. Simple and Airy
I love how bright this renovation is! Renovated by a couple while they were dating, this Airstream became their first home when they used it for their honeymoon.
My favorite feature is the tambour doors, giving a nod to the age of the Airstream while still letting it feel modern and new.
11 Wow-Worthy Airstream Remodels
Airstreams hold their value better than any other build of RV because of renovations like these. An RV that is over 60 years old can be sold for tens of thousands of dollars, while any other make of RV has been decaying in the junkyard for years.
