A Luxurious Kitchen

The kitchen is often the heart of the home—even in an RV. Vieve added a new sink and oven, but it’s the vent hood making a statement!

To find the perfect oven to replace the old one, owner Vieves asked all of her camping friends what they wished for in their dream RV kitchen. The answer? This oven and three-burner stove from RecPro.

You can shop RecPro’s RV appliances here.

When you’re tackling a project that involves a new stove and a new sink, sometimes it’s easiest to completely replace your RV countertops instead of simply updating them. This renovator chose these composite countertops from Home Depot that resemble marble.

The decorative counter-to-ceiling backsplash is peel-and-stick tile from Amazon. Peel-and-stick is a very popular backsplash option since it’s easy to install and lightweight.

We Recommended you purchase a minimum of 10% overage to account for design cuts and patterns

The sink was harder to find but is also from Home Depot.

Perfectly painted cabinets (Sherwin Williams Royal Bronze Green) and new decorative shelving make this refurbished camper kitchen look straight out of a magazine!

A Fireplace Always Makes an RV Feel Cozy!

Electrical fireplaces, like this one pictured below, are a common addition to RVs by professional remodelers. They are a great way to add both heat and ambiance to a camper.

A rug is a great way to keep your RV a little warmer too (especially if you have vinyl floors). Vieves found this one on Amazon:

Loloi II Loren Terracotta/Sky 5'-0" x 7'-6" Area Rug
  • Designer Aesthetic: The stylish pieces from the Loren collection blend traditional, vintage, and modern design that exudes elegance. The collection infuses distressed boho textures with modern materials and colors for a Moroccan inspired style.

Camping is for disconnecting, so Vieves removed the TV in favor of keeping the living room cozy. Want to also ditch your RV and add art to your walls? Here is the easy install light for your artwork:

The Easiest Renovation Project Ever?

Vieves said the fastest renovation in the RV was replacing the slide-out trim. She easily pried off the old trim.

Using some beetle kill wood that she had lying around waiting for a worthy project, she used a nail gun to put it up. The whole project took less than 30 minutes!

Vieve also chose to replace the old camper couch with a new pull-out sleep sectional sofa that boasts storage in the chaise.

Ditching the Dinette Booth

Hands down the most popular RV remodel is removing the existing dinette booth. (Followed closely by removing the old valances and blinds!)

Vieve built a dinette bench with storage and added two chairs to create a half-booth setup for the dining area. The top of the bench lifts for easy storage underneath.

Want to do the same?

Removing the dinette is even easier than you might think! All you need is a drill or screwdriver and the patience to find the hidden screws keeping your dining booth in place. If you find mechanisms and hoses hidden under your booth seating, a half-booth dining option like this might suit you. Then you don’t have to move any systems built into the RV, but you can still open up your dining booth space to the rest of your RV.

Never Underestimate Decorative Shelves

Decorative shelves are a great way to add style and personality to your RV, but many people worry about installing them.

You can install shelves directly into your wall with the screws.

If you remove cabinets to make room for shelves or remove valances from your windows, measure the length of the screws used by the manufacturer. Don’t use screws longer than this on your RV walls. (You can even reuse those old screws on your new shelves!)

If you add decor to your shelves, you can use acrylic tape to keep it in place while you’re driving. We swear by this double-sided tape as a great way to keep anything in place while you’re bumping down the road!

Painting Your RV Shower

One other upgrade to this bathroom is a fresh coat of paint on the shower. Painting a shower might sound a little crazy, but it is a fairly inexpensive way to give your shower an upgrade, particularly if it has started to yellow with age.

Using appliance paint ordered from Amazon, you can first degrease and wash the shower walls. Then using a medium grit sandpaper, sand the walls to help the paint adhere. Vacuum and wipe down the walls before applying your first coat. Let the paint dry for 24 hours between coats. Two coats should do it!
