Replace the outdated sofa in your camper or motorhome with something modern, yet efficient! All of these couches come unassembled, so you don't have to worry about how to get them through the door.
Wood futon with storage drawers
Where to buy it:
Amazon.com
What I love about it:
This futon couch with drawers and side table arms is a great way to make efficient use of space. The weight should be taken into account and might be a deal-breaker for some people, but often the sleeper sofas that come with an RV are very heavy anyway, so the total weight added might not be that much.
There are lots of sofas similar to this one available with different types of wood and different mattress colors.
Outdoor daybed sofa
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
A reader of RV Inspiration told me about this style of sofa that she purchased and finds so comfortable she sleeps on it some nights when her husband is snoring loudly. 🙂 (The arms lower down to turn it into a narrow bed.)
You can find this style of sofa sold by a few different brands and in lots of different colors, including beige, dark gray, light gray, green, and the blue pictured below. It's also a lot lighter in weight than most sleeper sofas, weighing just 50-75 pounds (depending on the brand you choose).
Daybed with trundle
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
The unique day bed with trundle is a good way to accommodate two people who prefer separate beds. Additionally, the sheets can be left on the bottom trundle, making it quick and easy to prepare for sleeping on a nightly basis compared to some other sofa beds.
Reclining Sleeper Sofa
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
This beautiful jade green sofa has a seat back that can recline or open all the way to convert to a bed.
Mid-Century Futon
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
I am partial to the mustard color for a bold look, but this futon also comes in orange and navy.
The Couch Bed
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
Folded up it's a couch. Flattened it's a twin-sized bed. The concept is simple, but sometimes simple is best!
Since the Couch Bed is the same size as a twin sized mattress, you could put it on a twin bed frame for daily use, or you could build a custom base for it. You can also buy this wooden pull-out platform designed to go with it:
Modern Linen Daybed
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
Many sleeper sofas really aren't very comfortable for sleeping on every night, yet most daybeds look more like bedroom furniture than living room furniture. This daybed gives you the best of both world: it looks like a modern, stylish couch, but feels like a regular bed to sleep on since the cushion is a regular twin-sized mattress (sold separately).
Hide-a-bed sectional with storage
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
In addition to converting to a full-width, queen-length bed and having additional storage space, I love that as a sofa it has arms, as many sectionals do not. In addition to the gray color pictured below, it also comes in beige, white, and a pretty light blue.
Modern futon with arms
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
It's modern, nicely sized for an RV, and affordable. While it may not be comfortable enough for someone to sleep on as their primary bed, it should be just fine for camping trips or occasional visitors. It also comes in dark gray.
Futon with drink holders
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
Drink holders in a fold down center console eliminate the need for side tables or a coffee table and, of course, it folds down into a bed. It also come in eight different color options, so you can find the perfect color for your RV!
Twin Fold-Out Sleeper Loveseat
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
This sleeper sofa takes up less space than most, and it comes in some really nice color choices: Emerald green velvet (pictured below), blue velvet, and green faux leather.
Mid-century Sectional
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
This one isn't a sleeper sofa, but this couch comes in so many pretty colors (eight altogether, including lime green and orange!) that I couldn't help but include it in this list. It can be configured so that the chaise is on either the left or the right side.
Sleeper sofa with storage
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
The storage compartment under the seat means no space is wasted. At 78 inches, this sofa bed is a few inches longer than a standard full sized bed, making it more comfortable for adults. It's also a lot more affordable than many sofa beds.
Love seat with storage
Where to buy it:
What I love about it:
At just 61 inches wide, this loveseat is perfectly sized for an RV. The storage compartment give you much needed additional storage space in your RV. It comes in a full-size version as well.

Been looking for a replacement sectional in a fabric for more than a year now…still nothing!
You and put a regular small sofa in as a replace meant just measure the area and a sofa. Or love seat. That’s what I’m doing now
Hope this helps. Thanks MC
Did you problems getting thru the door?
Recpro
We needed more sleeping space as well as sitting space so I bought a sofa bed. I have chosen Thomas Payne 379929 Tri-fold RV Sofa Bed. It was very easy to install, fit thru my doorway easily, and is very comfy. The fabric seems durable, and is very nice quality. When we expand the tri-fold to make it into a bed, it is surprisingly comfortable and very easy to do.
Thanks for the recommendation!
I want to change my bedroom in my 25 ft rv, I want my bed to go from bed to kind of like a futon couch. My bed is a queen size and their is no room to even take 2 steps.. one thing I noticed my fuse box and a plug in is under bed.
Does any one have any ideas or where I can go for helo
Perhaps you could build a smaller couch-sized box to cover the fuse box and then put a daybed or futon on top of it with a pull-out or fold-out frame? If you don’t have the skills to design it yourself, I would look for someone who specializes in RV modifications. I have a list here that would be a good starting point to find someone like that.
I have a walk-around queen and would like to use it as a couch during the day. Is there an inflatable sofa back and arm set that would fit over the foot of the mattress and use the mattress as the sofa seat?
Hmm, I have never seen a product exactly like that! If you find one let me know! Maybe something like this would work?
