13 Mirror Closet Sliding Door Makeover Ideas

1. Turning Mirrored Closet Doors Into Faux Barn Doors
Kathy Bross made her mirrored closet doors look like barn doors by covering them with wood plank wallpaper, then adding narrow strips of the wallpaper to look like beams.
2. Replacing RV Closet Doors with a Curtain
Angela Ferrell hung a pretty shower curtain across her closet doors to match her bedspread.
3. Creating a Frosted Glass Look
Kelly Hussin added vinyl decals to her mirrored doors that look like etched glass.
4. Using Spray Paint to Create a Frosted Look
Ginger McCarty used Krylon frosted glass spray paint on her mirrors, then added a vinyl decal on top of the paint.
5. Building Faux Wood Panels
Melissa Martin used beadboard wallpaper and hinge decals to create this look.

After adding curtains and a quilted valance, Alana Black’s closet looks more like an extra window!
7. Replacing Closet with Cube Storage
Kate Hopson of WheeledAndFree.com removed her closet doors altogether, replacing them with cube storage and curtains.
If you don’t need to hang your clothes, this is a great way to keep your storage while also adding decor to your bedroom!
8. Dressing Up Closet Doors With a Vinyl Decal
Lisa Booker trimmed a wall mural to fit her closet doors. Now she can feel like she’s next to the ocean no matter where she’s parked!
9. Decorating Mirrored Closet Doors with Window Film
Nikki Brister used window film to update the look the mirrored doors in her RV. The one she used isn’t made anymore, but you can shop endless patterns on Amazon.

Ed and Dawn Frasier used decorative window film from Home Depot to create this dramatic look.

David Manning’s “bamboo” closet doors were made using window film as well.
13. Making Mirrored Doors Look Like Japanese-Style Doors
Last but not least, I turned my closet doors into “Japanese shoji screens.” I love the way this softened the look of the doors so you can hardly tell they are mirrors!
